Q1 : Will I be asleep during surgery?

A1 : The anesthesiologist will administer general anesthesia to keep you asleep and pain-free during surgery.


Q2 : How long will I be in the hospital?

A2 : After surgery, you will be admitted for at least 14 days.


Q3 : What will the post-op period be like?

A3 : To protect the surgical site, you will need to sleep with your legs separated for 5-7 days. During this period, you will be on a liquid diet with low fiber content so frequency of defecation is decreased. After about a week, you will be encouraged to start walking. Depending on your rate of healing, your doctor may also resume your hormone prescription after one week.
